Post Conference Tours have been specially arranged to enable participants to experience the contrasts of this vast southern continent. Take in the Red Centre, Uluru (Ayers Rock) and Alice Springs, the Kakadu National Park and the Great Barrier Reef with its prolific coral wonderland - only some of many scenic wonders for you to see.

North of Cairns you’ll discover one of the most beautiful regions of Australia. Here, at the meeting point of an ancient rainforest and the Earth’s largest living coral structure, slow to a unique rhythm found only in Tropical North Queensland…

Day 1
Transfer from hotel to Sydney Airport for the flight to Cairns (airfares at own expense).Transfer from Cairns Airport to your hotel in the beachside village of Palm Cove.

Day 2 (B,L)
Cruise the Great Barrier Reef and swim and snorkel from the comfort of a pontoon. View tropical fish darting through coral gardens and enjoy a tropical buffet aboard your cruise.

Day 3 (B,L)
Journey by 4WD to the World Heritage listed Daintree National Park. Spot birds and animals in this rainforest paradise with your guide. Cruise the Daintree River in search of crocodiles.

Day 4 (B, D)
Today is free for shopping, relaxing or taking advantage of the resorts spa facilities. For the active, options include golf, white water rafting, hot air Ballooning or walking in the rainforest. In the evening enjoy fine dining by the sea.

Day 5 (B)
After breakfast, transfer from Palm Cove to Cairns Airport for your departure flight.

4 Days/3 Nights

Called the Heart of the Nation, the ‘Red Centre’ is arid, dramatic, vast, a land of extremes and home of Uluru (Ayers Rock) Australia’s spectacular monolith. Discover other geological wonders such as Kata Tjuta (the Olgas), Kings Canyon, Simpsons Gap and more.

Day 1
Transfer from your hotel to Sydney Airport for the flight to Alice Springs (airfares at own expense). On arrival in Alice Springs, freshen up at your hotel prior to the afternoon town tour. Visit the Royal Flying Doctor Service and the School of the Air. The Overland Telegraph Station will give you an insight into the Australian Outback of yesteryear.

Day 2 (B, D)
Travel through harsh, yet beautiful desert landscapes to Kings Canyon. Stop along the way at Hermannsburg Historic Precinct – birthplace of the landscape artist, Albert Namatjira. Upon arrival in Kings Canyon relax by the pool of your hotel or spend time exploring.

Day 3 (B,D)
An early start to the day for those wishing to see Kings Canyon’s massive, 500 foot high sandstone walls. After breakfast, journey by coach through desert country to Ayers Rock. In the afternoon travel to Kata Tjuta (the Olgas) and walk to the Olga George. View the sunset over Kata Tjuta with a glass of sparkling wine, a delicious barbecue dinner and an evening of stargazing

Day 4 (B)
This morning discover the magnificence of Uluru at sunrise. Climb this amazing monolith or take a tour around the base where you will discover the ancient Aboriginal legends of the “Heart and Soul” of Australia. This afternoon transfer to Ayers Rock airport for your flight, which must be booked to depart after 12.30pm (airfares at own expense).

Tours Terms And Conditions

These tours, designed by Tour Hosts Destination Management (license No. 2TA001144), are for participating delegates and accompanying persons of the 25th International Conference of Data Protection and Privacy Commissioners.

Reservations, Bookings And Final Details

Reservations should reach Tour Hosts Destination Management no later than 25 July 2003 and full payment is required at that time. No space on tours will be reserved without payment. Bookings will be acknowledged and participants advised of final details. If minimum numbers are not achieved, alternative arrangements or a complete refund of the published tour price will be made.

Maximum Numbers

The number of participants on ALL tours is limited and places will be allocated strictly in order of receipt of payment.

Airfares

Domestic airfares are not included (unless otherwise stated) in the ground cost of the tour and should be purchased in your home country in conjunction with your international ticket - You should receive a better fare this way. Should you encounter difficulties in obtaining flights, please ask your travel agent to contact the Conference Secretariat.

Cancellation Fees

Prior to 25 July 2003 - full refund less A$100.00 administration fee; after this date - no refunds will be applicable.

Late Fees

If bookings are received for post tours after 25 July 2003, a late fee of A$100.00 per booking will be applicable.
